QUESTION Could you tell me over what periods of time should pedicure be redone as well as what special care do my feet need as I always walk on heels and often have sole problems?

ANSWER It is recommended that pedicure be redone at most each month and a half, especially if you have problems with toenail growth or if you are inclined to getting callous formations. The notion that pedicure is done only during summer is incorrect because the fact that feet are enclosed within boots or shoes and canít be seen, doesnít mean that they should not be kept beautiful.

If you donít have the opportunity to visit a pedicurist, apply a hydrating, softening cream each evening and massage your feet soles, especially if you walk on heels. You can lie down and raise your feet for about 10 Ė 15 minutes, in order to change the flow of blood. And under no circumstances wear overly tight shoes as they deform not only the nails but also the foot and are precondition for the formation of callouses. If you use files to remove the dead skin on the heels or soles in general, donít press too hard because this makes the skin grow rougher and harder. There are professional electrical files for feet that you can use to carefully remove the upper layer of the harder skin patches and then do a peeling procedure with the appropriate product. And yet the best option is to use the services of a professional who can take care of all your problems, shape your nails and polish them as you choose.

In our salon we also offer spa-pedicure procedures, that are especially appropriate for winter, taking into account the fact that feet are wrapped with a special mask and are heated with electrical boots for about 15 minutes. This allows for the maximum permeation of the cosmetic product in the generally rough skin of this area. Do not underestimate the importance of pedicure as it may prevent the appearance of medical problems in the future.
